Wind

We moved through Fradley Junction on Saturday and pumped-out at the barge opposite the shop at the junction with the Coventry Canal.  Saw Blue Eyes heading off to Coventry and then queued for the locks to climb up and away from the junction - filmed all the way by a Malaysian lady on her iPad.

Pumping-out at Fradley. £15, so that`s about 25p a ...

Fradley Junction - and boat entering from the Coventry Canal

Front of the queue leaving Fradley

We continued towards Atmitage and found a rural mooring about a mile short of Handsacre, passing the new(ish) marina at Kings Bromley Wharf .  This will be it for a few days as high winds are forcast for late Sunday and into Monday.  Looking at the BBC`s weather prediction, it may be Wednesday before we head off to Great Haywood and Tixall.

Trees line the Trent & Mersey as it travels from Fradley to Armitage - bit of a lean as we`ve just pumped out

Home for the next few days ...

... a bit exposed but a nice veiw and away from the trees

  2. I'm following your progress on my copy of 'Britain's Waterways - A unique insight'. Are you planning to head back through the middle of Birmingham? ER

  3. No, we're going round the 4 Counties ring so we will go West at Great haywood Junction onto the Staffs & Worcester, N at Autherley Junction onto the Shropshire Union, E at Barbridge Junction onto the Middlewich Branch & S at Kings Lock back onto the Trent & Mersey. We may pop up the Caldon if we get time!
