Bagpipes and Chrome

We`ve actually managed to revamp a lot of the chrome work so that now only one roof step needs replacing (we bought a couple at Shobnall, just in case).  We spent a few hours polishing the fittings and cleaning the algae off of the cratch cover while at the water park near Branston.

Autosol has renovated the chrome work ...
... bar one roof step, which we`ll replace at the start of next season.

After any polishing session we always have a lone  piper to bring proceedings to a close.

From Branston we travelled to Alrewas, stopping just above the lock and immediately short of the town.  There`s a boat opposite with a parrot on board that has a wide vocal repertoire - "Why are pirates, pirates: `cos they arrr".

The Ivy May - Alrewas parrot boat

Old Gardner engines are popular.  Simon worked on Gardner powered Lorries throughout the 1970`s so that when we bought M he insisted on a ... Isuzu.
We arrived at Alrewas just before lunch, so that now we are doing a bit of polishing - as the weather is nice - and watching the boats go by.  Ducks are nibbling away at the algae on the hull - doing their bit to keep M looking good.
