Another day at Weston

Another stationary day at Weston. We were planning to move a few miles up the canal to Willington if the wind died down , but it didn’t, so we’re still here.
We took Vera on a different route up to the church. As we started off along the canal towards Weston lock there was a novel sight. A small yacht was motoring towards us with the mast lying down its centre & across the roof of the cabin. The yachtsman was in pucker sailing gear & said that he was on his way to London from Nottingham.

An unusual sight on a canal!

Walking to the church from a different direction gave us slightly more conclusive evidence of the continued presence of a Ukrainian influence.........

Vera is being very reluctant to use the steep steps down to the galley from the rear deck. We decided today to try out the ramp we bought her to make life easier for her & Simon’s back. She’s not at all impressed & has so far refused to go near it. We’ve left it on the bank in the hope that she’ll get used to walking on it.

'If I ignore it, it may go away'...V

Happy Birthday Elizabeth!!!
